Anxiety is a common feeling that we all experience at some point in our lives. To help manage these feelings, it’s important to talk to someone about it and find ways to cope. In Australia, there are various free and low-cost resources available for those seeking support for their anxiety.
- Lifeline – A free service with a phone line, online chat, and text option.
- Men’s Line – A support service for men with phone and online chat options.
- Friend Line – A not-for-profit organization that offers support to those experiencing loneliness through phone and online services.
- MindSpot – Provides free and anonymous assessment and treatment for mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety, and depression.
- Health Direct Mental Health Helplines – A list of mental health support services can be found on the Health Direct website.
Aside from seeking support, finding activities to take your mind off of your anxiety can also help. Exercises, such as going for a walk, doing yoga, or swimming, can provide a mental break and release endorphins. Meditation and mindfulness activities, such as guided meditations on apps or videos, can also be helpful in reducing anxiety. Experimenting with different types of sounds, such as ASMR videos or relaxing sounds, can also be beneficial.
Remember, everyone’s coping mechanisms are different and it’s important to find what works best for you. Let’s support each other and share what helps with our anxiety in the comments below.
I decided to start this service not long ago as its something i enjoy, its a way for you to be able experience being cared for without it being sexual. Sometimes just having someone there to help you out, cook you a meal or even just to sit down and have a chat to can be really awesome.
Its a completely judgement free service, sometimes its easier to talk to a stranger about the things happening in your life then talking to friends and family. So i thought why not? I can potter around do some laundry, tidy up your place then make you a coffee and we can sit and chat about anything you want.
I believe that we are all in need of someone to just listen to what we are thinking about and to get some perspective on our lives.
I have been taking with me on my travels around Australia and i would love to grow it and spend more time with people. I like cleaning and cooking for others, sometimes coming home to a clean home and a freshly home cooked meal can be something that makes you feel relaxed, takes away some of the stress of life and just helps you wake up in the morning feeling good about yourself.
I saw this video a few years ago – If You Want to Change the World, Start Off by Making Your Bed – William McRaven, US Navy Admiral, and sometimes we need a little bit of help to get there you know. And I would love to give you this help. The state of our home indicates the state of our mind. If i can help one person improve their life or give one person some kind of support to help make a small change to feel better about themselves, it will be truly amazing.
